My self illustrated book, with in excess of 20 sketches, is suitable for most ages and would make an ideal Christmas gift for those who have ever interacted with these extraordinary beasts of burden, who just love donkeys because they are so cute and sweet or are simply avid animal lovers.

My motivation for writing 'From the Donkey's Mouth' was a visit to the Corfu Donkey Rescue. After speaking to some of the dedicated volunteers who kindly told me about the predicaments of their donkeys prior to them being rescued, I felt obliged to give the donkeys a voice.

My book is therefore written in the first person by Doukis, the little Greek donkey. I have illustrated it to give the text further impact. It is a historic non-fiction book which is also educational as many people are unaware that equids are the most abused animals in history and on the brink of extinction.

Doukis describes the different phases in his life and the lives and roles of his relatives in faraway places. His story is both tragic and uplifting, humorous and tear-jerking. Get your copy now and help Doukis be heard. A portion of your purchase will be donated to the CDR sanctuary for their upkeep. Thank you!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading my book as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
