The celebration includes the traditional jumping over fires and burning the wreaths of flowers from May Day. The celebration takes place on St. John’s Eve on 23 June.
May flower wreaths were made on 1 May to welcome the spring month and these are now burnt as it’s over. The fires also contain olive leaves and twigs. While they are burning, local people run and jump over the fires many times.
