The procession of the icon of Saint Theodora of August takes place on Orthodox Sunday from the Metropolitan Cathedral of Corfu. This year, it will proceed as usual through the city streets.

The procession of the icon of Saint Theodora of August has been held every year on Orthodox Sunday by the Metropolitan Cathedral of Corfu. It was established in 1985 by Metropolitan Timothy as a commemoration of the reinstallation of the icons by Saint Theodora. At the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is also named after Saint Vlassios and Saint Theodora, on the day of the celebration, “winter” watermelon is distributed during the liturgy, in memory of a miracle performed by Saint Vlassios.
