The Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University, in collaboration with the Greek Society for Social Pediatrics and Health Promotion – Corfu Branch, and the Corfu Medical Association, is continuing its Music Education Program for Infants and Toddlers (ages 1 to 6). The program aims to foster children’s connection with music and strengthen the bond between parents and children through musical activities.
Classes for the period from October 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, will be taught by Department of Music Studies students Andria Demetriou, Eleanna Melidi, Maria Simeonidi, and Panagiotis Kladas, along with other student collaborators. The program is supervised by Dr. Zoe Dionysiou, Professor of Music Pedagogy at the Ionian University.
Classes will be held at the Corfu Medical Center (Skaramanga Square), one day per week for each age group as follows:
Each group consists of approximately 12 children with an equal number of parents. The musical activities are based on pedagogical approaches and materials for preschool-aged children developed over the last fifteen years of the program. Children under 3.5 years of age attend with a parent, who is expected to participate actively. Parents of older children are encouraged to wait in the reception area on the ground floor or in the designated room.
Those interested are invited to register at the Corfu Medical Center, tel. 26610 39615, Skaramanga Square.
As a donation to the center, a fee of €50 per child is recommended for the four-month program (€80 for two siblings), with part of the proceeds supporting the renewal of educational materials. Fees are payable upon registration, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
