13 Sep 2023On September 7, 2023, the International Conference titled “Workshop on Tensions in Cosmology” began, with a duration from September 6 to September 13, 2023. This conference is part of the activities of the European Institute for Positive Sciences and Applications (scientific and scientific training – cultural expansion). The proceedings take place at the Mon Repos conference center as part of the main scientific program.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontian Islands and the National Metsovion Polytechnic Institute, and it involves cooperation with several top European universities and research institutions. Local organizations, the University of Ioannina, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corfu, and the Corfiot Studies Society, are also expected to participate. On Friday, September 8, 2023, at 21:00, a concert by the Philharmonic Society of Skripero took place in the courtyard of the Museum of Palaiopolis.
Furthermore, the first two lectures for the general public are scheduled to take place in the event hall of the Corfiot Studies Society at the Museum of Solomos in Corfu (2 Theodorou Makri and Kosta Dafni, former Arseniou passage, Mouragia, entrance from Th. Makri).
The first lecture will be held on September 11, 2023, at 8:00 PM by Mr. Manos Saridakis, Ph.D. in Astro-particle Cosmology, a principal researcher at the National Observatory of Athens, on the topic: “Recent Developments in Cosmology – The James Webb Telescope.”
The second lecture will take place on September 13, 2023, at 8:00 PM by Mr. Ioannis Florakis, Assistant Professor in the Theoretical Physics Department of the University of Ioannina, on the subject: “String Theory: A Journey Towards the Infinitely Small.”
