The area of Gimari, with its beaches, views and natural beauty is one of the most scenic areas of the island. For this reason, for decades, it has been a major attraction for a significant number of tourists and visitors from all over the world.
The traditional village is built on a green slope that reaches the sea and is located on the main road that connects the city of Corfu with the area of Kassiopi. Geographically, the area of Gimari starts immediately after the village of Nissaki and ends directly after Kioski (observation point of the area and the sea strait), where the area of Sinies begins.
There, at the narrowest point of the sea canal between Corfu and Albania, one can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view to the beautiful pebble beaches of the area but also to the shores of neighbouring Albania and Lake Vouthroto.
Below Gimari the famous Kalami settlement nestles, the unique Kouloura, Chouchoulio with its exotic beach and the stone seaside chapel of Saint Arsenios. Also, in the settlement of Loustri is the Holy Church of Saints Constantine & Helen where a number of cultural events are organized, which frame the religious events and festivals of the church.
In Gimari there are some hotels, rooms to let, villas and authentic Greek tavernas in which one can enjoy local traditional Corfiot dishes whilst overlooking the green bay of Kalami.
