A favorite summer destination for locals and visitors, Agios Georgios Argyrades, provides more than enough to fill one’s holiday photo album!

With a huge sandy beach that is divided into two parts, its small port is ideal for walking to in the afternoon after you have enjoyed your swim. The port is on the southern part of the beach that borders the equally wonderful beach of Marathias. On the northern part there is the neighbouring beach of Issos, which is a continuation of Marathias and  the protected Korission Lake, which is well worth visiting.

The settlement with which Agios Georgios Argyradon is connected, the Argyrades, are a short distance away and it is worth exploring its narrow streets and admiring, up close, its historically important castle houses, part of the defensive fortification method that kept the potential conquerors away from the cathedral and dwellings of the inhabitants.

Organization and activities

The beach has sunbeds and umbrellas as well as many options for those of you who want to get away from the usual and try various water sports.

There are many who choose to take the boat from the beach of Agios Georgios Argyrades to the opposite rocky islets of Lagoudia, alternatively there are day trips to Paxos and Antipaxos, which are farther away.

Accommodation and catering

All the necessary tourist infrastructure is in place in this area, with many different accommodation options from large hotels to small holiday rental units.

Agios Georgios Argyradon is also known for the bars that attract a large number of patrons in the summer. With many food and snack options available at the restaurants or cafes that are located in very close proximity to the beach, it is popular with people of all ages.
