Nov 2024The Women’s Association of Acharaivi and the Community of Agios Panteleimon, in collaboration with the Municipality of Northern Corfu, announce a mountain running race of 10 km named “1st Thinali Trail” through the villages and paths of the area.

Medical certificates will not be required for the races, as adults participate at their own risk, and minors must have parental consent.

There will be electronic timing (chip timing).
In addition, on the day of the race, there will be running races for elementary and middle school students (1,500 m). Participation for children will be FREE.
A. Prizes will be awarded to the top three in the overall ranking.
B. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three in the age categories: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+, and Women. The top five in the children’s race will also receive prizes.
Additionally, all participants will receive commemorative medals and a race T-shirt.
All participants will be entered into a prize draw with their race number, which will take place after the finish. There will also be a separate prize draw for the young athletes with their numbers.
There will be a masseur available for the athletes at the medical area!
The race takes place on dirt roads (approximately 5 km), asphalt (approximately 2 km), and paths (approximately 3 km) with an elevation difference of 400 m, and it is considered a route accessible without significant technical requirements for athletes.
Most of the ascent occurs in the first 6 kilometers. Proper warming up is recommended for athletes, as an uphill path follows after the first 500 meters.
In case of rain, some points along the route may be particularly slippery!
The time limit for completing the distance is set at 3 hours. After this time, the organization bears no responsibility, and athletes must return to the finish by the shortest route indicated to them.
The route will be marked with red flags and white-red marking tapes only. At intersections off the route, there will be a red X marking.
At points where athletes run on asphalt, there will be organizers or Civil Protection personnel, and athletes are urged to exercise caution.
The organization reserves the right to modify the race route for safety reasons or emergencies.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2: Collection of race numbers from 4:00 PM at the Women’s Association hall in Town Hall Square in Acharaivi.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3:
In Town Hall Square, there will be stalls offering: souvlaki, loukoumades, coffee, and beer for athletes, companions, and visitors.
