A new trail running race is coming to Corfu! The race follows the ancient trade trails that have been used by the mountain villagers to bring down their goods to the sea and Corfu town. The name arrives from the historic name of the final downhill of the run – the Alogostrata, Greek for “horse road”.
Start and finish of the Alogostrata Trail will be the village of Agios Markos.
There will be two races:
8km +412m
The race is short in kilometers but quite demanding with the Liskia path as almost vertical uphill. Once up, it goes for a nice loop around the lake of Spartilas passing the abandoned church Agios Nikolaos and heads towards the Alogostrata for a speedy downhill with amazing views.
18km +807m
This race for the first time combines some of the favorite trail pieces of the local trail runners: Liskia, the Orchidea trail behind Spartilas’ lake, the enchanted path along Zigos creek towards Sokraki, the hunters’ path and the speedy Alogostrata downhill.
