1 Nov 2023In Titos Patrikios, in the year of Alkis Zeis, in Balkan Literature, and in separate books, this year’s International Poetry and Prose Festival of Corfu is dedicated. For a week, from Monday, October 30th, to Wednesday, November 1st, and from Thursday, November 2nd to Saturday, November 4th, Corfu becomes the Island of Books, with two festivals, an ambitious program, and many significant events. All events will take place at the Ionian Parliament, starting at 19:00.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 30
A notable poet from Albania, Luan Julis, presents his work. Educator and author Katerina Christogerou will speak, and actress Thomi Karydi will recite poems.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31
The significant poetess Tasoula Tsilimeni presents her collection “The Silence of the Afternoon,” published by Mandragoras. Actress Christina Rokadaki will recite poems.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER
1 The most significant living Greek poet will be honored by the Municipality of Corfu, engage in a discussion with author and journalist Minas Vidiadis, and greet and recite his poems. Barbara Douka, the Artistic Director of the Corfu Municipal Theatre, will welcome and recite poems.
