The International Conference By the Book10 will take place in Corfu on June 25-26, 2025, with the theme “Divergence and Convergence in Publishing Today.” The Department of Archives, Library Science, and Museology, along with the Information Technologies Laboratory of the Ionian University, is honored to host and organize the 10th edition of this conference in 2025.
This annual conference on the publishing industry and books is organized by the European Publishing Studies Association (EuroPub).
Keynote Speakers:
- Anna Karakatsouli
Professor of European History and Culture at the Theatre Studies Department, University of Athens, and Director of the Book History Lab. Her academic background includes studies in history in Athens, Strasbourg, and Paris. She has served as an Expert Associate for UNESCO in Paris and Vice-Director of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. Her recent research explores publishing practices of far-right and extremist groups in Greece after 1974.
- Gino Roncaglia
Full Professor of Philosophy of Information, Digital Publishing, and Digital Humanities at Roma Tre University, Italy, and honorary professor at Universidad Nacional de Villa María in Argentina. He is a prolific author on topics such as the future of books, digital tools, generative AI in humanities, and Medieval and Renaissance logic. He has also contributed as a consultant to educational TV and radio programs for Italy’s national broadcaster, RAI.
- Josi Wismar
SPIEGEL bestselling author and 2024 #BookTok Author of the Year at the TikTok Book Awards. With a background in Book Studies from Mainz, she actively engages with her readers via social media, writing in collaboration with her audience during livestreams on platforms like BookTok.
