29 Sep 2023“Artists of Origami, Potential” Educational Program for Students in Grades 1-4 of Primary School
How can a simple piece of paper transform into a range of figures without being cut or glued, through a sequence of folds and creases? Origami, the art of Japanese paper folding, is not only a unique form of art and entertainment but also finds applications in fields such as mathematics, architecture, and medicine. This educational program includes an introduction to the art of origami and a hands-on workshop. It concludes with an educational tour of selected exhibits in the Museum of Asian Art.
Some of the educational benefits of origami include enhancing fine motor skills, improving concentration and visual-motor coordination, cultivating memory, and practicing patience. Furthermore, this educational program aims to promote the acceptance of cultural diversity through a first encounter with Japanese culture.
The project is co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund) through the operational program “Human Resources Development, Education, and Lifelong Learning.”
