Alkistis Georgiou presents the exhibition Déjà vu, a series of interactive installations focusing on the themes of death, memory, and the ceaseless flow of time. The exhibition will take place in the historic space of the Prisons at the Old Fortress of Corfu, from October 20 to October 31, 2024, and will be open to the public daily from Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The work Déjà vu consists of two installations:
- Déjà vu: An exploration of the role of photography as a time capsule of memory, where visitors are invited to continue the stories of frozen moments in time.
- Living Dead: An experiential journey into death, where viewers lie on a wooden structure, listening to the soundscape of a funeral and experiencing the connection to burial traditions.
The exhibition aims to evoke feelings and thoughts about the temporality of human existence and the contradiction between life and death. Each work creates a connection between individual and collective memory.
