A short introduction by the visual artist Panagiotis Mavropoulos:
“From 2020 until today, I have sought creative release by working on various themes. At the same time, I worked and created a series of works that I exhibit under the general title: ‘Works that Tell Stories and Lives of People.’ The works may seem thematically and… somewhat disconnected at first glance. However, those who know me (more personally) understand that… my underlying love for mythology, the grotesque, and satirical elements, as well as my inclination towards intentional folk art, form the real connection between these paintings. Furthermore, my love for intertwining stories and telling tales (e.g.) made me view the old Homeric story of Odysseus and Alcinous from a different perspective. I wanted to paint and narrate it as if it were happening today within every Corfiot family, where its members might bear old Homeric names…”
