On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the group painting exhibition titled “The Hand” will open at the Periodic Exhibition Hall of the Corfu Art Gallery.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the gallery and the publishing house “image” and features works by 25 contemporary artists included in the Visual Album – Calendar for 2025 by the publishers.

25 Creators: Fourteen painters, one sculptor, and ten poets associated with the publishers present forms and emotions, demonstrating how hands contribute to the aesthetic and dynamic impact of art.

Curated and presented by Elvira Metallinou, the exhibition celebrates artistic creation centered on the hand—the ultimate tool of creation, the part of the body that transforms material into the creator’s vision.

Artists explore the hand’s power to narrate stories beyond words, express states of being, emotions, and thoughts, and communicate its unique language—even when not directly depicted. They portray the hand that gives, embraces, protects, creates, struggles, and bleeds.

The exhibition aims to engage visitors in a meaningful interaction and dialogue with the works of esteemed creators. It seeks to highlight the hand’s profound significance in life, inspiring the audience to connect, share, and collaborate for a better world.
