On the weekend of September 23-24, Cultural Heritage Days are celebrated throughout Europe. This year’s theme for the celebrations is “Cultural Heritage and Tradition – Testimonies of Yesterday in Today.” The Kapodistrias Museum, as it does every year, participates in the festivities with Free Admission.
We invite you to visit on the last weekend of September to explore the historical collection of the Museum. Through unique exhibits of historical value, including personal, family, and governmental artifacts, you can discover the life and legacy of Greece’s first Governor, Ioannis Kapodistrias.
The historical estate of the Kapodistrias, “Koukouritsa,” which houses the Kapodistrias Museum, is declared a Historical Monument, showcasing exceptional examples of traditional Ionian rural urban architecture and its unique natural and man-made beauty. During your visit, you can also explore many stories about the life and nature of the estate over the centuries through a specially designed outdoor pathway.
Opening Hours: Permanent Exhibition & Garden Cafe: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
