Magda Dimoudi: “Between my previous solo exhibition at the ATTIC gallery (formerly the French Institute of Corfu) which lasted only 3 days due to the Corona virus lockdown and the preparation of my next one, I found myself in front of some works – studies of a new “style”. Of course, each subsequent one is a continuation of the previous work in the sense of experimentation and personal development of the artist. But what did these have? I can’t determine. Layerings of wins and losses. Studies of the great art masters. Study of the nature and the environment around me. Uncharted surprises, which all have a common fact. Without necessarily being the main subject, Corfu was always present subconsciously. I entrust them to you to the glance of your soul. They were painted like a small drawing diary of my everyday life in Corfu. You can see them in the welcoming area of the Palette cafe, 15 Velissariou Street, in the Jewish quarter (Ovriaki) at its opening hours. There are two kind of artists. Those who reflect the environment like mirrors and those who use themselves as a filter to present it with their own eyes. I belong to the second ones…..”
