Under the August Moon: A Unique Collaboration in Corfu
The stunning summer performances of the ‘Omonoia Gastouriou’ Philharmonic will conclude with a special event titled “Moon, Love, and Music,” set against the backdrop of the August full moon.
For the first time in Corfu, Giorgos Theofanous, a composer of some of the greatest hits in modern Greek music history, will take the stage. His songs, performed by renowned Greek artists such as Paschalis Terzis, Antonis Remos, Giannis Parios, Natasa Theodoridou, Haris Alexiou, Marinella, and others, have become gold and platinum records. He will collaborate with the legendary Greek saxophonist Giorgos Katsaros, who will surprise the audience with a never-before-seen role. They will be joined by the unique ‘Omonoia’ Philharmonic of Gastouri in what promises to be the most romantic concert of the summer.
Kleio Denardou, with her unmatched velvety voice, along with two esteemed vocalists, Nikos Papoutsis and Corfiot singer Olga Venetsianou, will perform songs by the two composers. Additionally, the concert will feature the Evripoulon Choir “Ioannis Kapodistrias” and the school choirs of Corfu’s 4th Gymnasium and Music School, prepared by Elli Karydi, as well as the children’s choir “The Smiles of Mon Repos,” prepared by Agathi Koskina. With nearly 250 participants, this collaboration promises to bring a special color to the evening.
The program, artistically curated by Nikos Dimitropoulos and conducted by the maestro of the Omonoia Philharmonic, Spiros Rallis, includes many surprises. Under the light of the full August moon, this event will create a rare artistic atmosphere.
Tickets are on sale from Tuesday, August 13th, at the “Korniza” stores in Georgaki Square and at Speedex Courier in Koulines. All proceeds will support the free training schools of the Omonoia Philharmonic.
