The Asian Art Museum of Corfu invites you to its new temporary exhibition titled “Korea Through Its Landscapes.”
The exhibition features selected works of Korean painting from the 18th and 19th centuries. Landscape painting holds a prominent place in Korean art, as the depiction of the natural world is a key feature, reflecting the Eastern belief in the divine nature of the environment. Korean landscape artists aimed to capture the spirit of mountains, rivers, and other natural phenomena, expressing their vitality and representing a utopia where humans live in harmony with nature.
Through the 9 artworks on display, the unique beauty of the Korean landscape is highlighted, as captured by the skilled brushes of Korean painters.
On May 23 and 24, in connection with the commemorative action of the Ministry of Culture “Green Cultural Routes,” visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to admire the nature of Korea!
Exhibition Curator: Despoina Zernioti CMG, Director of the Asian Art Museum.
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday 08:00-20:00
