    CORFU. “The Princess of Saxony,” by Spyros Samaras, is staged for the first time in Corfu (5-6-7/4 at 8:30 pm at the Municipal Theater), in collaboration with Symphonic F.E.K. & San Giacomo.

    AN ISLAND, lost in the depths of a period strewn with fire and steel. A story, original and vivid, which “asked” for the land there to yield fruit. And a stack of scores, which, by skillfully combining the “national” and the cosmopolitan (with that distinctive Ionian touch, which laid the foundation for a School), “dressed” the coupling expertly, bestowing upon the oeuvre a perpetual gem, with a weighty signature: Spyros Samaras. The… other Samaras. The post-melodramatic one. The less known, of the late offspring. Of operetta… In the month of April, on the eve of Easter, it is revealed here. For the first time. In its entirety and manner: “The Princess of Saxony.” A revival of 110 years, a collaboration of the “Old” (Symphonic Orchestra) and San Giacomo (Municipal Choir), with the directorial stamp of the unique, Petros Gallias.
