“Le Tablao de Tango” is a French creation and production that brings together the best Argentine soloists around a repertoire of classic tango songs, from Carlos Gardel to Piazzolla, for an intimate and authentic journey into the heart of Argentine music.

Three exceptional musicians – Franco Luciani (harmonica), Chino Laborde (voice), and Raul Kiokio (guitar) – internationally recognized and often invited as soloists by orchestras, play together here for the enjoyment of artistic excellence and the recreation of early tango. Like in a cabaret of the past, they meet tango and flamenco dancer Alexia Theodorou, a Greek who lived for many years in Buenos Aires and is now based in Seville. She combines flamenco dance with tango music in a unique performance that highlights both the traditions and passions of Latin America and Spain.

A table, a few chairs, and glasses of wine: a simple setting for an immediate and unprecedented encounter between the artists and the audience around tango, which is considered and experienced as a portable music, akin to blues, fado, or rebetiko. The theatrical intoxication of the singer, who distills the poetry of lost paradises, nostalgia, and disappointed loves throughout the performance, intoxicates the dancer, who expresses all the glory of tango through flamenco dance as a body that burns and later is reborn precisely from its own ashes!

Since May 2022, “Le Tablao de Tango” has performed to sold-out audiences on major national stages in France (Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre de la Ville, etc.), as well as in Spain, Italy, and Portugal at world music festivals, jazz clubs, and more. The album “Alcohol y desamor,” released in the spring by Sony, has received excellent reviews and is nominated for various awards.
