26 Sep 2023The Corfu Studies Company (Solomos Museum) presents four lectures in September 2023 at the Solomos Museum, under the general title “IT ALL BEGAN HERE.” These lectures, conducted in English, will focus on the main events/publications in the careers of Gerald Durrell, Theodoros Stefanidis, Nikolaos Mantzaros, and Lawrence Durrell, highlighting that Corfu – its culture, flora and fauna, intellectual history, folklore, and society – served as a significant inspiration for their achievements.
On September 5, 2023 (7:30 pm), Lee Durrell (wife of Gerald Durrell) will speak about Gerald Durrell.
On September 12, 2023 (7:30 pm), Vera Konidari (educator, Ph.D. candidate at the Ionian University) will discuss Theodoros Stefanidis.
On September 19, 2013 (7:30 pm), Konstantinos Kardamis (Associate Professor in the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University) will talk about Nikolaos Mantzaros.
And on September 26, 2023 (7:30 pm), Richard Pine (Irish author living in Corfu, founder of the Durrell School) will present on Lawrence Durrell.
