The music-loving audience of Corfu will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique concert on Monday, September 9, at 8:00 PM in the welcoming event hall of the Kapodistrias Philharmonic Society.

The 18-year-old, multi-award-winning Italian virtuoso Maria Serena Salvemini will perform masterpieces from the international repertoire on the violin, accompanied on piano by Pietro Laera, pianist and professor at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari.

The concert is part of a pan-European tour across 9 countries and 14 cities (including Berlin, Brussels, London, Lugano, Krakow, Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Corfu, and Ljubljana). Titled “Eternal Violin” and organized by the cultural association “In the Playfulness of Jazz Music,” the proposal stood out and secured funding from the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage for the international tour in collaboration with local Italian cultural institutes, esteemed cultural associations, and renowned concert halls to present an original program featuring the violin.

Despite being only 18 years old, Maria Serena Salvemini has already won first prizes and distinctions in numerous major music competitions, such as in Vienna, Moscow, and Padua. She has also performed with the Berlin Philharmonie in 2022 and 2023 and has given recitals in the Mendelssohn Hall of the famous Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig.

The program includes works by Franck, Fauré, Wieniawski, Massenet, and Saint-Saëns. On piano, the Italian professor from the “Niccolò Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari, Pietro Laera.

    Admission is free.
