At 12:45, the parade will proceed through Agoniston Politechniou Street (passing by the Old Palace sections), honoring Disabled and War Victims, Students, Scouts, Armed Forces units, the Hellenic Police, the Coast Guard, the Fire Department, and Border Patrol units, with the participation of the Philharmonic Bands “PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY OF CORFU,” “SPYROS SAMARAS,” and “KAPOTRIA,” according to traditional order.
The musical band “F.E. Mantzaros” will be absent from the procession of Saint Theodora of August litany on Orthodox Sunday, March 24, 2024, as well as from the March 25th parade in Corfu. This is because it will participate in the official military parade of Athens on the same day, as invited by the Ministry of National Defense.
On the preceding day, March 24, 2024, it will hold a magnificent concert at the Athens Concert Hall – “Christos Lambrakis” Hall, featuring works related to the Greek Revolution, in collaboration with the Hellenic Air Force Band.
The participation of “Mantzaros” in the military parade of Athens on March 25th is of historic significance, as it marks the first time a civilian band participates in such an event.
The presence of “Mantzaros” in Athens on March 24th and 25th, 2024, is expected to enhance the celebrations for the anniversary of the national rebirth and showcase the traditions of Corfu, an example of which will be admired by the Greek capital.
