    A Stroll for Andreas Kalvos
(200 Years Since the Publication of the “Odes”)

The Society of Corfiot Studies (Solomos Museum) is organizing a stroll through locations in Corfu associated with Andreas Kalvos, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the publication of the “Odes” by the great poet from Zakynthos, who lived in Corfu for 26 years. The starting point of the stroll will be the Ionian Academy, where Andreas Kalvos taught in 1840-1841. Andreas Kalvos also taught during the years 1827-1828 and 1836-1837 at the Ionian Academy, which at that time was housed in a different building.

The stroll will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 19:00.

Participation is free for those interested.
We note that this event is part of a series of events organized by the Society of Corfiot Studies to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the publication of the “Odes.” Four lectures have already been held at the Solomos Museum (three by Professors of the Ionian University and one by the President of the Society), and more events in honor of Andreas Kalvos will be announced soon.
