The Language and Politics Workshop of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting, in collaboration with the student group DfltiVoice, is dedicating the new academic year to Literary Translation.

In partnership with professors from the Department and well-known literary translators, they are organizing a campaign to raise awareness about the role of literary translators. They are also planning a series of events, conferences, and webinars on literary translation, exploring the challenges faced by literary translators, the beauty, difficulties, and responsibilities of transferring texts into another language, era, and readership.

The first event, “The Path and the Passion of Translation,” will take place on October 2, 2023, from 17:30 to 20:30, in honor of International Translation Day. It will be an online seminar featuring the following guest speakers:

Augustos Korto
Vasilis Laliotis
Nikos Pratsinis
Persa Koumoutsis
