The Bar Association of Corfu, in anticipation of the recent adoption of the new Penal Code and the new Code of Criminal Procedure and their entry into force on May 1, 2024, is organizing an informative seminar for colleagues, as well as for citizens or media representatives who wish to attend, on Saturday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m., in the event hall of the Bar Association (Courthouse of Corfu 1st floor), with the following speakers and topics:

A/ Vasilis Tavxis, Lawyer – criminologist, President of the “Association of Criminologists and Advocates of Greece” Topic: “New amendments to the Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure”.

B/ Efstathios Vergonis, Prosecutor of the Court of Appeals of Corfu, member of the Board – Deputy Secretary General of the “Union of Judges & Prosecutors” Topic: “Expedited Justice. In what way?”

C/ Irini Maroupa, Lawyer – criminologist Topic: “The influence of the Mass Media on high-profile trials”.
