Summary of the Play: In an urban living room, six women anxiously, sometimes hysterically, strive to organize a well-rounded “ceremony” to commemorate their deceased aunt. They attempt to regulate all the details, with the help of a “Maid” they hire, to make the ceremony “dignified.” In reality, the deceased is just an excuse to showcase their financial appearance and social status, as the ceremony is not what truly interests them; everything happens within the context of ostentation and projection. The play reflects the hypocrisy and facade of a world that, in order to show off, loses touch with reality and reaches situations of hilarity.
