Situated on the south east coast, approximately 16 kilometres from Corfu Town, this lovely beach, surrounded by lush green vegetation, is to be found.
For those looking for a quiet, tranquil setting away from bustling resorts and madding crowds, Agios Ioannis Peristeron Beach is ideal.
It is a long beach, stretching almost 2.5 kilometres, and has a combination of sand and small pebbles. It also has some very pretty little coves for those looking for privacy and solitude.
Agios Ioannis Peristeron derived its name from the local church of the same name.
Provisions and organization of Agios Ioannis Peristeron Beach
It is a partially organized beach with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire to one side only. The water is the most amazing shade of aquamarine, is crystal clear but quite deep in parts. Although suitable for families it is not a beach for small children
For thrill-seekers, there is the “Aqua Funtastic Watersports Park” which offers a wide selection of inflatable rides to get the adrenaline pumping. Other activities are parasailing, skiing, jet skiing and scuba diving. The beach has a sandy fringe so lends itself to beach games too.
There are a number of picturesque, traditional tavernas which are right on the beach. Seafood and Traditional Greek and Corfiot cuisine are their specialities. Enjoy a refreshing beverage or delicious meal, on the water’s edge, while watching the sun set and listening to the waves lapping the shore line.

On the opposite side of the main coastal road there are a number of small hotels, also apartments and studios for holiday rental. A mini-market and a number of snack bars are also to be found.
How to get to Agios Ioannis beach:
Οn the main coast road, to the south of the island, is Agios Ioannis Beach, located almost midway between the fishing village of Benitses and the large town of Moraitika. The beach is easily accessible by municipal transport or by car. Convenient parking is provided.
