What Will You See at the Museum?

Nona’s House – Olive Mill spans two levels and includes:

The Ground Floor: A large, open space of approximately 100 sq.m., featuring the traditional katoi (ground floor living area) with its characteristic elements. Here, you’ll find furniture, textiles, traditional costumes, and everyday objects used by the villagers.

The Upper Floor: Divided into four rooms, each with its own theme:

Bedroom

Featuring a metal bed, mattresses, and pillows, along with hanging wreaths.

Dining Room

With wooden tables and benches, reminiscent of family gatherings.

Wardrobe

Displaying traditional costumes, an old sewing machine, and dolls.

Exhibition

Showcasing coins, lamps, watches, and other items collected by Anastasia’s father, as well as natural exhibits from the village, such as seashells, snakes, and plants.

Additionally, the museum features the family’s old olive mill, a testament to the agricultural heritage of the area.

The Story Behind the Museum

The building housing the museum is a traditional stone structure estimated to be around 300 years old. With no modern renovations or alterations, the space retains its authenticity, offering visitors a genuine experience of the past. The Demegeli family, with their deep respect for tradition and culture, has transformed this building into a living piece of history.

Nona’s House – Olive Mill is open to the public:

From April to October: 7 days a week, 9:00-13:00 and 16:00-20:00

During the winter season (1/11 to 31/3): Open on weekends or by appointment for private visitors and schools
