Flanked by steep mountains and sheer cliffs, this vast, sandy beach Gardenos Beach, is simply idyllic.
Situated about 30 km from the centre of the island, on its southwestern coast, it is surrounded by unspoilt, natural flora. With a lighter shade of golden sand than the neighbouring beaches, it also has calm, clear, shallow waters, which deepen gradually, making it a safe choice for young children.
The beach gets its name from the small river that divides it into two parts and flows into the sea. This wide, pristine beach has not been marred by tourist development, and is truly a hidden gem. It is an ideal destination for relaxation, idyllic or family moments
Also worth mentioning is the beautiful, traditional village of Vitalades that leads to the beach. It is post card pretty, with its old character houses and cafes and has a very old-world ambiance.
